Best Time to Visit Lolab Valley
May to October. Autumn brings the apple and walnut harvest.

Lolab is a broad, oval valley in the Kupwara district of north Kashmir, known for rice fields, apple and walnut orchards and hillsides covered in pine and deodar.
It is far from the main tourist circuit and sees few visitors, which is exactly why some travellers seek it out.
The valley floor is dotted with villages, with Sogam the main town. Forest roads lead to meadows and viewpoints on the surrounding ridges.
Near the entrance to the valley are the Kalaroos caves, the subject of many local legends. Lolab lies in a border district, so identity checks at checkposts are normal.
