Best Time to Visit Kokernag
April to October, when the gardens are green and in flower.

Kokernag is a small town in the Anantnag district known for its freshwater springs, which rise at the foot of a forested hill and flow through a large landscaped garden.
It is usually combined with the Mughal gardens of Achabal and Verinag, making a full and relaxed day in south Kashmir.
The springs feed streams that run through lawns, flower beds and tall trees. A trout hatchery beside the garden is one of the largest in the valley.
On the same route are Achabal, a Mughal garden built around a spring, and Verinag, a spring enclosed in an octagonal stone pool that is regarded as the source of the Jhelum. Beyond Kokernag the road continues to the forest valley of Daksum.
