Best Time to Visit Betaab Valley
April to October for green meadows and comfortable weather. December to February for snow, when access depends on road conditions.

Betaab Valley is a wide, grassy valley on the Lidder river a short drive above Pahalgam, with pine and deodar forest rising on both sides and snow peaks at its head.
It takes its name from the 1983 Hindi film Betaab, much of which was shot here. Today it is the most visited of the valleys around Pahalgam.
The valley floor is laid out as a park, with footpaths, bridges over the river and plenty of open grass. It lies on the road from Pahalgam to Chandanwari, so the two are usually seen together.
In summer the valley is bright green; in winter it lies under snow and the river runs between white banks. Either way it is an easy, gentle outing with almost no walking required.
